Birding in Uplands Park – 8:00AM Sunday, September 29, 2013

From Dave Newell:

Hello Friends of Uplands Park:
Geoffrey’s next birding trip is this Sunday, September 29, meeting in the large parking area out at the end of Cattle Point at 8:00 a.m. Hope to see you there!

Perhaps, you also know that Geoffrey and Jean, with another boy from Vancouver won Silver at the Pan Am Games for their Team Kata and Bunkai, beating Venezula, then Mexico. This is the first time that Canada has been in the finals for this event in the 24 year history of the Junior Pan Ams. Their Kata and Bunkai can be seen on YouTube at:

Team Kata Canada vs Peru 2013 Junior Pan Am Karate Championship

Friendship from the Newell family: David, Brigitte, Geoffrey and Jean

Also, this Saturday, Sept 28 , the CRD (Capital Regional District, in conjunction with the Victoria Natural History Society, is organizing their annual Hawk Watch out at East Sooke Park. You may see some of the migrating birds at the parking lot at Aylard Farm (which is in East Sooke Park). There is also a display to be seen there as well. Hiking up to the top requires some good fitness and takes about 30 -40 minutes, up as steep hill.

Below are the bird lists from out last trip to Uplands Park.
