Two August Birding Events with Geoffrey – Uplands Park & Witty’s Lagoon

David Newell sends the following:

Two Birding Events with Geoffrey

On Saturday, August 23, Geoffrey will be leading his Friends of
Uplands Park Bird Walk. Please meet at 9:00 a.m. in the large parking
lot out at the end of Cattle Point. Uplands Park is at the north end
of Willows Beach in Oak Bay. After observing sea and shore birds, we
will head inland into the park. Learn the calls and beautiful songs
of summertime birds. Many thanks go to the numerous people who, over
the years, have put in so many good efforts to remove invasive
species!

On Sunday, Sept. 7, join Geoffrey on a bird walk for the Capital
Regional District out at Witty’s Lagoon, in Metchosin, from 9:00 a.m.
to 11:00 a.m. You will hear and see between 50 and 60 species on the
walk. Meet at the Nature House at 9:00 a.m. The walk includes a
fairly long and steep hill, down past spectacular Lady Falls. Please
bring your binoculars.
