Invitation: Friends of Uplands Park Ivy Removal – November 30-2013

In proud partnership with Oak Bay Park, the Friends of Uplands Park Invite You to Participate in a Rare Garry Oak Ecosystem Restoration Event!

DATE: Saturday, November 30-2013. 10:00AM – 1:00PM.

PLACE: Meet at the Northwest park entrance down the Midland Road cul-de-sac. See Map on attached jpeg and PDF.

ACTIVITY: Bring your friends, family, clippers, loppers, and hand-saws to Uplands Park, Saturday November 30th, 10am-1pm to help participate in an invasive ivy removal event in the heart of one of Canada’s most endangered ecosystems! No experience required! Training and tools will be provided for all those in need.

A Beautiful Day for Oak Bay’s Tree Appreciation Day – Uplands Park Nov 3-2013

Thank you to all those who came out to Oak Bay’s Tree Appreciation Day and especially to Oak Bay Parks (Chris Hyde-Lay and his staff) for having organized such a wonderful event.  Many Friends of Uplands Park volunteers and other community members came out to help Oak Bay Parks staff plant Garry Oak Trees and Camas Bulbs in Uplands Park. A beautiful day. Here are some photos.
